Does this look like a lot of railroad ties to you? This massive stack of 60,000 ties is just a fraction of the more than half a million ties Pacific Alaska Lumber has provided the Alaska Railroad over the past 18 years. ARRC rail adventures are a one-of-a-kind, bucket list experience. PAL is proud of the role we’ve played to help make this a comfortable & safe way to explore Alaska’s majestic wilderness.

The Chefornak Traditional Council recently completed their project to replace an aging boardwalk. As you can see, the new boardwalk is quite an improvement!

Relocation to higher ground along with an elevated design accommodates both spring floods and frost heave. Handrails, pullouts and a wider turn-around platform increase both safety and functionality.
